Tract Text
The wrath of God is a reality that all who reject God will experience. It can not be ignored or shunned for God in His Holy Word has declared it and therefore it must be accomplished, for God is bound to His Word. The sinner shall not escape it!
“In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: who shall be punished with eternal destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of His power:” II Thessalonians 1:8-9
What is the wrath of God? This wrath is God’s judgement toward any perishing soul who rejects His Son Jesus as Saviour and Lord. The Bible says that flaming fire, Hell, will be the eternal abode of the damned. The Word of God declares that Hell will be a place of unquinchable fire, a place of torment, a place of wailing, weeping and gnashing of teeth, a place of no rest, a place of darkness, a place of no escape.
“God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.” Psalm 7:11
One might ask what would kindle the anger of a Holy, Righteous God against frail, needy man? It is you dear sinner friend, it is your rejection of God’s forgivness and grace, it is your rebellion against the Gospel of Jesus Christ that has angered God. This little tract that you hold in your hand tells you of the only path by which you can escape this terrible Wrath.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.” Romans 5:8-9
Sinner friend, there is an escape! Many have spent their lives searching for something or someone to fill that empty void. There is a loneliness that so drowns mankind that many feel that the only escape is to take their own lives, but this is not the path of escape for there have been many who have done this very thing only to pass into eternity and find that there is no rest found in Hell for their weary minds.
This path of escape can be found only in Jesus Christ! Only through the eye of faith can a soul walk up Calvary’s rugged hill and with a heart of repentence, bow at the foot of an old wooden cross where the precious Son of God was slain for their sins. It is at the foot of this cross alone that forgivness can be found and new life begins. What more can be said? Do you still hold to your sins? Why not allow the Lord Jesus to receive the rewards of his sufferings?
You may very well turn yourself away from God’s mercy. You may try to ignore the drawings of the Holy Spirit. You may even say to yourself, “I will not believe such foolishness,” but just remember you would not be the first to say such a thing.
God’s Word tells of Noah, a man who found grace in the eyes of God, a man who through his willingness to obey the word of God spared his family and himself from God’s wrath. For God had told Noah that a great flood would come and destroy man from off the face of the earth, for God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth. For 120 years Noah built that ark and preached a message of warning, that soon God would pour his wrath upon sinful man, yet noone would listen to the warning from the old preacher. Instead, they laughed and mocked and said surely we will not believe such a foolish thing as this. Then one day God gathered Noah and his family into the ark, and as the rain began to fall, God closed the door and all who were not found in the ark were left to perish in the raging waters just as God said he would do. Can you not imagine the fear that gripped those who realized that the waters were rapidly rising, I wonder if they ran to the ark in hopes to find a way of escape, only to find that God had already shut the door, and no man could open it. Now the old preacher is not so foolish is he? Now that God’s wrath had become reality they were ready to believe and repent, but now it is to late. Once again God has made such a promise. He has promised that he will pour his wrath upon sinful man. Will you repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ?
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out,…” Acts 3:19a
“And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Acts 2:21
“But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed” Romans 10:8-11
